The purpose of this organization shall be to encourage and support the goals and interests of underrepresented groups in the field of medicine as deemed by the American Medical Association. This organization includes but is not limited to interests in careers as physicians, nurse, lab technicians, and the various allied health professions. The organization will highlight the basic requirements for the graduate health professions. There will also be volunteering opportunities. The goal of this organization to bring to light certain issues facing underrepresented groups working in the field of medicine as well as current health issues facing minority communities. This organization will make use of academic workshops, speakers, and educational forums to educate members on the various career opportunities and programs in the health professions. Minorities in Medicine is about "Changing the Face of Medicine."
